Meet My Mentor

Contrary to what many would believe my Role model is not a FUTO lecturer, in as much as i admire much of them and some few in particular, my Mentor is a Man i met after my secondary school days. In fact if not for him i would not have been so motivated to gain admission into FUTO in the first instance. Thanks to his tutorship and counselling when i eventually gained admission into FUTO and by the grace of God i did excel in my academics. funny enough he even told me at which level of my education i was free to have a girlfriend.
But for the 5years duration i have been in FUTO we are yet to communicate, not even a single phone call, ,not because he eventually travelled to USA before i gained admission, not because we are no longer friend, perhaps i was finking that since he was a 1st class graduate in ICH dept Ile-Ife i was going to call him and tell him i am also a 1st class student in my dept too after the completion of my studies...... i don't know how far and well that dream is going on now that i am in the final year of my study.
There is a reason why i decided to talk about my Mentor today, no, today is not World's Mentors day .... it was because i stole a glance at his facebook page today after 5 years and viewed his wall and his publications and i was happy about what i saw cos i saw that he also admits to making mistakes at one point or two in the stages of his Life. That he is also human and that for the fact that he motivates doesn't change his human nature. I am also glad that through the grace of God i was able to motivate some of my friends into securing admission also.
I am glad that God made me cross path with this young man that so motivated me even to the extent that i attended tutorials on sundays  ....... i will leave you with his favourite quote "The Future is Brighter"  ..... his name ..... Elisha Otome .... aka .... Man of Hope

Guess what 2face is Suffering from – 2day is his birthday (make a wish for him)

Image
On the 18th September 1975 unknown to many people, even the surrounding neighbours a star in the making was born. He was born to a humble family. He underwent primary and secondary school education as every average individual would. He later went on to become a High school dropout.
Later he ventured into music with the amazing TRIO called Plantainshun Boiz. They made wave and later splitted. But this very man Innocent Idibia even though had some issues with impregnating various females at arm length still stood out.
And God has so elevated him in the society which is evident from the good work he does for the poor. I can categorically tell you that this MAN is suffering from success.
I hereby use this medium to encourage him cos he is at the Zenith and he can still do more.
Happy birthday and God keep you, cos we really look up to you.
A Fan.

2face Idibia says - Let it be known that i lived in the days of Achilles

Unknown to people Greatness and Fame are two very different things, the latter tends to focus more on popularity that is to be known even by means of events that are not noble, but nonetheless the person in question is known.
While the former tends to associate itself with events that are noble, notable and are of high esteem. now lets take a look at 2face idibia and D'banj. To the average person D'banj seeks for fame not greatness thats why he tends to be seen in videos with Snoop dogg, Jay Z etc and consequently, he wears flashy clothes. While 2face tends to sing with great old folks like Sir Victor Olaiya and Sir Victor Uwaifo.
There is a point to note here Fame can take you to the Top and it can also bring you down to your knees. It was said in the movie "Spiderman" that the greatest thing the people wants to see in a HERO is his downfall, people are so quick to notice that. While fame can take you up quickly, it can also bring you down quickly as well whereas Greatness lasts forever.
When i finished watching the movie "TROY" i was surprised to hear a man say "Even if nobody remembers me, may it be known that i lived in the days of Achilles the Great & may it also be known that i lived in the days of Prince Hector ".
A man was grateful to be associated to living in the days of great men, its better we aim for greatness rather than fame.

Why i never blogged

Many of friends familiar with me might find this shocking as at why I decided to start a blog page. Cos truth be told I have never for one day visited a blog page or advised someone to do so.
It is not that the Author of various blogs did not have interesting and captivating Topics to apprehend my attention or the authors were not capable to produce similar topics regularly, but rather it was because of a mindset that I conceived about a Blog, a mindset which I know the average Nigerian also conceives about a Blog.
I wanna mention them and clear some people about these misconception and why they should get into blogging because it is a really good practise.
Firstly, I was of the opinion that a blog is way inferior to an actual website and as such the owners of blog pages are just desperate to get users to visit their blog and that is why they keep writing information that is not necessarily true just to attract and keep users.
Secondly owing to the first reason a blog can be seen as a medium through which an Individual can be robbed of his hard earned money since people term it passively as inferior.
the list of misconception I had about Blogging is endless, but it was not until I started learning website development and designs that I truly started to see “the merits of blogging”, and that my pals will be our next topic. Bye 4 now
