Most Expensive and Most Cheapest Places to Marry in Nigeria (Bride Prices)
In my many years working at a cyber cafe in the heart of Lagos, i have had many people from different walks of life especially the elderly folks walk into my Cafe in view of typing the requirement their prospective son
in-laws is to pay for the hands of their daughter in marriage.
I probably shouldn't be telling you guys this, but the stuff is this: this old folks Papas and Mamas seems so friendly that they try to explain to me why they charge each amount for each item and they relate it to the history of their village.
i wont forget a memorable event there was this particular daddy from Delta state, from his looks he would be probably in his 70s dressed in a short nicker and a polo and wearing a hat and holding a walking stick with a shiny white boot and with a smile.then he handed me a list still smiling and while i was typing he was just telling me the origin of the various items.

ASUU/FG TO SETTLE THIS WEEK FROM THURSDAY..... SAYS THE SEER
"Expect positive news from thursday" was exactly what the SEER said, the strike would be called off this week, i speak not from my power, but from the sight God gave me. So i dont want to credit from it, the strike would be called off when nobody thinks it will, when it seems as if it won't happen then they would come to an agreement.
Please note that i dont have any friend or brother with the Government, neither do i have with ASUU so i am not leaking any confidential information but i speak as i have freely received from God.
So if you are a student, please start preparing for your exams because next week you would be going back to your various schools. At that point the crowd burst out in happiness all of them seemed over joyed at the hearing of the word from the SEER, because according to them, the SEER predicts to certainty.
When the SEER granted our reporter an interview, he said he likes to keep a low profile because his visions comes to him and not vice versa and says its not from any gods but from God. Amidst many of his accurate predictions he also said the world won't come to and end in any year lesser than 2015 but also stressed it should not be an avenue for people to while away their precious time now but instead should turn sight to God.
Well the SEER has spoken, we are all leg crossed, waiting upon Thursday, if it will bring the joyous news students all over Nigeria have been waiting for.

THE CHURCH THE OPIUM OF MAN
To be sincere this Church issue needs to be thrashed out and please don’t ever feel guilty that you are thinking logically about a church when Jesus told us to believe without doubting.
Don’t feel antagonistic in nature because the same Jesus told us that in the last days they would be fake prophets and if he said so, it then means he expects that we should discern from fake prophets from the ones he truly sent and we can only do this through logical reasoning.
I will tell you a story on this particular issue at hand, in Nigeria despite the hardness and sufferings that ensues, a man with only N500 as his last penny thought it wise to visit church on a Sunday, as the service was going on, he was enjoying the service and suddenly it came to offering time and the man in question thinking himself to be a wise man said to himself I thank God I have broken this N500 into pieces so from the abundance of his heart, he dipped his hand into his pocket and reached for N200 but it was at that moment that the pastor said you have to dig deep into your pocket to merit a favour from God, hearing this the Man reached further into his pocket and grabbed an extra N100 bill.
Le me tell you this in all sincerity, the man finished that N500 there and then in the church because of the persuasive nature of the pastor and his only hope is to anticipate that God would double it back unto him, and this leaves me with a single question which is what happens when the supposed money doesn’t even come back at all, talk more about being doubled? Should the man take to crime?
Perhaps was it not the other day I read on a website of a pastor who patronised a slut and after getting the service, the slut told him plainly that she worships at his church and the pastor was full of plea, begging the supposed woman of little virtue not to expose his secret in public.
The church is the only place where you hear a thing that doesn’t naturally concur with your thinking and yet you accept it. E.g When you are slapped at the left cheek you are obliged to turn the right cheek for another slap. This makes the church the Opium of man. Like a man stabbing you with the right hand and pulling you back cheerfully with the left hand wearing a smile.
This should stand as a clarion call to those who goes to places of worship blindfolded without any will of their own to discern good from evil.
It cannot be overemphasized that the church brings more good than evil to man, but God works through men to touch us so we should be wise enough to know when its no longer God thats speaking through them.

He Knelt down and begged me to have sex with a girl
You know what? I really have to share this
one, because I must confess I have seen some really crazy things in my days as
a student but this one definitely stands out.
And so I was
thoughts and it was all about the ongoing strike. And this was my thought, what
do I really miss most about school and while I was reminiscing and my mind
drifted to when I was in my second year of study in the great citadel of
learning an institution named FUTO, the name of the lodge I lived at the time
was Satellite Homes in Umuchima. It was a twin two storey building, 98% of the
inmates were male and only 2% were female. Yeah!!! so you could imagine the
competition to get a girl in the lodge was very stiff.
A two storey twin
building lodge that consisted of 98% of the male folks you would easily expect
the guy to guy rapport there to be very high and most of the time guys were
always discussing on how to have sex with a girl and open their window so their
friends could watch it live.
It might sound
funny but it actually happened, little wonder one night at about 1:18 am a guy
that lived on my floor came banging at my door when I was heavily asleep, he
didn’t stop there he also went through my window and was screaming at the top
of his voice that I should come out and see what is happening. Since he had
woken me and my room mate up, we had no other option than to follow him to
where the said “something” was happening as early as 1:20am as at the time.
Walking across the
corridor, it was faintly lighted, it was not after we got to the other end of
our block that I started seeing my lodge folks gathered around a window of the
last room on our block. On seeing me approach, they made way for me to have a
view, as if the “something” going on in the room concerned me, still with all
manner of anxiety I stretched my neck and took a good peek into the room, it
was well lighted the first sight my eye caught was the rug, it was brown in
nature and soft in texture. I continued tracing the rug up and I saw a pair of
socks, short, pant, shirt all were scattered roughly and when I finally got a
view at the bed “lo and behold” this guy was completely naked but the girl that
accompanied in the bed wasn’t.
Anyways they were
fondling and kissing and the guy positioned the girl in a manner that her back
was facing the window and he was giving the guys at the window a show he
masterminded, he confirmed this by raising a thumb in the direction of the
window.
Funny right? The
things guys and girls do in school, having sex with a girl and showing it to
your friends. The only problem about the “something” that happened that early
morning was that although the guy on the bed was a lodge mate and also a friend
of mine by default, I had something to do with the girl on the bed, she was
also a lodge mate, and people in the lodge considered I and her to be good
friends because she often comes into my room to watch film and spend time and
the boys in my lodge were also aware that I have not gotten intimate with her.
And exactly two
weeks before the said “something” happened the girl came into my room at night
wearing a revealing and skimpy dress, though I ignore the thought and went
about my normal chores that night, the particular guy that woke me up and took
me to the scene of the “something”, walked into my room and saw the girl and
her skimpy dress.
A little about
five minutes the girl said she was coming back, that she had to get something
from her room. When she left the guy knelt down and was begging me passionately
to sleep with the girl when she comes back. I was shocked to say the least this
really took me off guard and so happened that I was standing as at the time and
the guy was kneeling, if someone had a view from outside it would seem the guy
have greatly wronged me and was seeking for forgiveness. But that wasn’t the
case he was asking me to commit an act of folly and he was asking me in a
serious way and so I burst out in laughter and asked him why beg me to do such,
why can’t he do it himself. So he told me that he was already in a sex
relationship with the room mate of the girl and couldn’t risk involving another
one with the supposed girl in question.
So I told him I
have heard him, so he stood up and left and it was barely two minutes before he
left that the girl resurfaced cutting me short in my thoughts and to worsen
matters our unreliable PHCN though it right to hold out their power at that
time.
Well to cut the
long story short I opted out, I didn’t go through with the guy’s plea and I
guess that was why the girl went to another guy as late as 1:18 am in the morning
two weeks later.
Hey I have no
regret, in fact when I think about it I manage a smile and say wow, school
life!!! There is nothing we don’t see including the good, the bad and also the
ugly.

ORIGIN OF THE FAMOUS BATA SLIPPERS
It might sound funny to you but they are definitely some few positives to pick out from this epic story you are about to read.
And the story goes thus: A marketer
named John was once asked by his firm to travel to a particular country in
order to publicise and advertise their designer’s shoes there. But
unfortunately for John on his arrival, he saw lots of children, fathers and
mothers walking about with their bare feet. And so this precarious sight
discouraged John and he called his firm and asked to be extracted from that
country that the citizens there did not appreciate shoes.
A week later a different firm also
sent a marketer named Charles to market their shoes in the same country. Upon
Charles arrival he also found out that nobody there used a shoe and so he
called his firm and told them to send in more thousands of shoes that the
people there have not been introduced to foot wears.
He started convincing them of the
benefits of using shoes and he sold tremendously that at a point his firm could
not keep up with the amount of shoes needed, so the firm resolved to producing
the epic traditional rubber sandal popularly referred to as “BATA” in order to
meet up with the rising demand of foot wears.
In conclusion, the difference
between the two marketers John and Charles is that what John saw as a barrier,
Charles saw as a stepping stone to a much higher ground and this made him
generate immense wealth for his firm and himself respectively.

COUNTING YOUR CHICKS BEFORE THEY ARE HATCHED (ETHOPIA VS NIGERIA)
I must confess it is now a sort of a norm
and I don’t blame the writer in anyway regarding the article he wrote, because
these days the easy side to defend is the side that looks weak, fragile and
susceptible.
May I also say
that this is not a thug of war in anyway against the writer, a columnist that
wrote about the Ethopia vs Nigeria match at www.goal.com,
these are his words and I quote “Just 180 minutes before Ethopia and their
making it to their first world cup ever”.
He
went further to explain the torrential journey which Ethopia had to go through
to get to this stage of playoff s he was wise enough to cite that the only time
Ethopia beat Nigeria was in 1993 a solitary victory that ended 1-0 in favour of
Ethopia also he was cunning enough to mention that the Super Eagle side
defeated by Ethopia was our best side ever reaching an impressive feat of FIFTH
(5th) in the Fifa ranking and for that reason that the match at
Addis Ababa would not be a stroll in the park for Nigeria.
With
all these words and as a patriot of Nigeria I braced myself and decided I must
watch this match with the crowd, with my fellow country men because this is not
just a football match, a lot is at stake including our pride as a footballing
nation.
So I went to a viewing centre to enjoy the
match for myself and I did go with an objective mind I must tell you and as I
expected all these old folks of ours were just sitting around the viewing
center, hmmmm it looks quite different compared to when I was watching the
English Premier League.
Ethopia played well I must confess and for
a moment I was beginning to think that they must have read the article that
they might just make it to the World Cup at the expense of Nigeria, and boy
when they got that goal I must confess I didn’t flinch, finally Nigeria won the
ma tch 1 – 2. And I am implored to share my submission on this topic.
You do not defend a side because they are
weak, if you think Nigeria is strong now they achieved that through hardwork
and discipline because at a time they were also weak and now in Africa they
look like a behemoth that crushes any country that comes before them.
And I cant just help but think about those
words of the columnist, just 180 minutes between them to make their first ever
world cup. That was very wrong, what was between them and the world cup was and
still is Nigeria.
So if Ethopia still plan on making it to
the World cup, they better prepare hard and earn themselves a slot and don’t
rely on hopeful wishing.

President Umaru Musa Yaradua would have called off the Strike
Unknown to many people Yar adua, the first graduate president of Nigeria was a Lecturer at College of Art Science in kaduna state prior to him becoming the Governor of Kastina State before he inevitably made it to become the numero uno citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Perhaps when he was alive his merits were not appreciated enough, he single handedly brought the Niger Delta Militants to a truce and we saw in our daily papers how the Militants dropped their weapons and it makes me wonder, what exactly is President GEJ selling point? why cant he find a way to cajole this Boko haram menance? is he just playing the waiting game and allow these Terrorists to rob innocent lives?
ASUU strike is more than 100 days old today, i say a big happy birthday to it. And it makes me remember that fateful day of the election when i saw the smiling faces of the young and old alike trooping into the polling center to vote for GEJ. I was in Owerri, Nigeria at the time and i could not resist the temptation to eavesdrop on the elderly ones as they continued pouring encomiums about GEJ and how he will lead us to the promise land.
After years into his administration there seem to be no meaningful improvement, how can a graduate and a P.hd holder allow students stay at home for more than 100 days? Does this means he doesn’t feel the pain of the students? Perhaps he doesn’t have a child of university age? or perhaps he/she doesn’t school in Nigeria.
Believe in me President Umaru Musa Yaradua is a Pragmatic fellow and he would not have allowed the strike linger for 100 solid days.
I wonder the way forward in a country where Education and the youth is overlooked.
God bless Nigeria

Should we tell the President?
Nigeria @ 53 ..... The word on everyone's lip. In as much as i am
tempted to go on with majority view that Nigeria is on the back pedal, i
will not cos they are many positive things to reckon with for he who
has eyes.
I was aware of the media chat the President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Azikwe granted the nation to speak about the major sectors in the economy that deserves answers, inasmuch as i enjoyed watching the President speak, he truly showed he is a Graduate and an individual worthy to hold an Msc and Phd, Cos many students i spoke with were taken adrift by his speech.
But he who has eyes should know the President was just beating about the bush, taking a look at the ASUU/FG situation why on earth is he talking about State University being on strike on the grounds of Solidarity purposes. Is it that he prefers only Federal students to be at home? the issue should not have been raised at all, its just a way to beg the question.
I won't say i am totally supporting ASUU but its so obvious that FG still has some vital and pivotal issues to settle in the Education Sector if we are to measure up with the rest of the world.
Should we tell the President that its not a bad idea if we have Infrastructure in our schools? or perhaps we should tell him that its not a bad idea if the best three students in all departments travel out to further their education and help better our Education sector tomorrow? Should we also tell the President that Money is a great motivator and bonuses promised and fulfilled will go a long way to motivating the Lecturers to impact more knowledge on the students? Should we tell the President that the precious time we are wasting now at home cannot be recovered ever again?
Should we tell the President?
